The 1st West Cornwall Wobble

This ride was supported by a total of 10 Norton owners who all bar one took part on a Norton steed. A total of 4 from Plymouth, 3 from Bodmin, 1 from Mevagissey and 2 from St Mawes. At the bottom of this email you will find photos from St Mawes Castle, St Michael’s Mount and Lands End.

The trip was great fun and quite eventful, thanks to Ian for the route planning. The journey included lost sheep, lazy starting, a great hotel, bony curries, saucy dog groomers and loud bands and that was just day one!

Day 2; Everybody re-grouped in Penzance at Ian’s favourite bus shelter (circa 1965 Ask Ian for details) and headed for the Minack Theatre and on to Lands End just to compare the wooden brakes and no engine breaking of the Rotary to the far better equipped Dominators and Commandos. After an Ice cream at St Ives there was an attempt at the wall of death simulator in the Saltash tunnel on our return. Full stories this weekend at our regular pint and pasty gathering.

Thanks to all those that made the effort to take part throughout the two days and made the weekend something to remember.

The Piston Rally @ Calstock

Every year our friends from the Plymouth British and Classic Motorcycle Club invite us to join them at their Rally held at one of our favourite location, Calstock.

The Rally is held on the football field by the river on the Whitsan bank holiday at the end of May and there are normally around 100 bikes. There are planned rides on Saturday and Sunday to local areas & events of interest and three nights of entertainment ranging from live bands to a classic disco.

It is worth dropping by if you are in the area and worth staying a night or two if you can spare it.

More information can be found on the PB&C MCC website

The Isle of Man

The Island is a “Mecca” for all things on two wheels, a place were BSA Gold Stars are parked in flocks of a dozen and Vincent’s are let our of their cages.

The branch has run many pilgrimages over the years and we would recommend it for all motorcycle enthusiasts, our favourite time to visit is the Classic TT held in August and quickly gaining in popularity.

Here is a select gallery from our visit in 2014.
